STEFAN M. CARTY
Following in his father's footsteps, Stefan started painting at a young age. He learned to paint watching his dad and from raw God given talent. Stefan attended St. Dunstan's Episcopal School where he studied art under his father.
In 1982, Stefan won a borough-wide art contest in Brooklyn, New York and his artwork was on exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. An honor that his father was proud of, since he himself won an art scholarship at the age of ten.
Stefan would prove to be an accomplished artist in his own right, when he was commissioned in 2005 to produce a portrait of the late retired General, and former Secretary of State, Colin Powell for the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. In 2020, Stefan Carty, Leo's youngest son founded the Carty Fine Arts Studios in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of his father's passing. The mission is to continue the legacy of illustrating life through vivid images that capture the imagination. The studio features an exclusive collection of Leo's work in addition to Stefan's original artwork.
